One of my Instructors once told me that all the Certifications in the world, and all the Fancy Advertising you can do doesn't really matter. What really matters is that the Students like and respect you as an instructor and believe in what your teaching. I believe in that philosophy very much and that is why I dedicate these next pages to my students and what the school has done for them. After all. It is what they think and what the parents of my young students think that really matters.- Sifu Robert Teodorczy I have been doing martial arts off and on for 25 years and have worked out and sampled a variety of programs, schools/dojos. RDMAA is by far the best! The arts offered are extremely practical for all ages and ability levels. There is always an instructor or student ready to "get it on" or take it slow as to accommodate any beginner or novice level student. RDMAA is not an "ego driven" money grubbing belt shop". We have fun, condition our bodies and learn practical self defense. No attitudes here! I believe "you get out of it what you put into it" and RDMAA is a great place to apply this concept. ~ Mike Cigler
I joined RDMAA about 2 years ago with little experience in the Martial arts. Being a 30 something female, I was tentative at first but Sifu made me feel very comfortable and welcomed at the school. I have grown in the arts of JKD, Kali, Silat and Kenpo, and I have learned much about myself and abilities. I have used the concepts taught in all areas of my life; I have improved confidence and focus, achieving my goals now seems easier, I have a sense of balance in life and I am in the best shape ever as I have lost 30 lbs since joining. The atmosphere at RDMAA is very friendly, supportive and encourages all students to achieve the best they can be in all areas of life.~ Angela Demko
I have always been interested in Martial Arts training, not only for the self-defense aspects, but more importantly, for the health benefits derived from such a fitness program. Being close to 40 years old, overweight, and having little flexibility I wondered if, for me, the days of joining a school were over. Moreover, I wondered if I would even be accepted at a school.
Originally we were only looking for a karate school that our son could join. However, we were offered such a great family plan deal that my husband and I decided to join as well. A year and a half later, we are all having a wonderful time learning practical self-defense techniques. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. Sifu Teodorczy is patient, kind, knowledgeable, talented, and funny. Our confidence, strength, and memory have all improved. ~ Mona Laskowski
Joshua has learned discipline, patience and has become a more behaved child since training at RDMAA. He is a much more confident person. ~ Bart Sena These classes have given the children more confidence since they joined. Stretching and exercise is a plus. Also, having two girls who argue all the time, now they have patience with each other. ~ Donna McGonegal
It changed my son's personality, he likes to reach goals, developed my son's physical condition, made new friends. Teached new things while having fun at the same time ~ Daniel Markovitch Having a Shodan on Shotokan, a 1st Degree Black Sash in Northern Shaolin Eagle Claw Kung Fu and thirty years martial arts experience joining a new school is always interesting and raises the question what will I learn here to augment what I already know? At Red Dragon Martial Arts academy the answer was impressively surprising - both from a breath and dept perspective. The base style at the school is American Kenpo, strongly linked to the Parker system and enhanced with Emperado's Kajukenbo. This combination results in a practical art that strongly focuses on self defense and highlights the Kempo philosophy of rapidly and repeatedly striking the attacker. The techniques are simple and build to a very effective system that can be learned at any age (in contrast to some styles that require a lot of flexibility and agility to progress). The basic Parker Forms are supplemented with Chinese Kenpo, Kajukenbo and weapons forms to broaden the skill base. The offence-defense strategy of the Filipino arts elevates the Jeet Kune Do class to a superior level. Learning to attack with common weapons (unarmed, knife, stick) as well as how to defend against then is outstanding. Safe sparring with single and double stick, knife and stick and solo knife is an excellent way to practically applying both the offensive and defense techniques. Working from kicking range, to punching range, to trapping range to grappling range provides the complete arsenal of techniques and concepts for a well rounded, practical and useful martial art. Red Dragon is a good place to continue your martial arts, particularly if your interest is in practical self defense. The teaching style is relaxed, the atmosphere friendly and you get to work with instructors and students that have a broad base of martial arts experience. ~John McGrathWent to NJ for a kuntao-silat seminar this weekend put on by Bob Orlando. He is a well known Paladin Press videos/books guy.
The school and Sifu Teodorczy have provided me a fun, friendly atmosphere close to my home in which to continue my study of Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do, Filipino Kali, and Indonesian Silat. I look forward to training in kenpo karate in the near future. ~ Andy Eng
Has given my son the sense of being able to confront adversity with confidence, not backing away as was the case before.~ Phoenix Pietrangelo
Since I have joined the school a little over a year ago I have been able to be more focused in school. It has helped me improve quite a bit. Also physically I am healthier and better off than I was before I started the school. Plus I can now defend myself.~ R.J. Skirkanish |
